The Abacus Law Philosophy

When we started AbacusLaw in 1983 at the beginning of the PC revolution, everything we did was groundbreaking, exciting and fun. A passion for providing our customers with innovative technology revolutionized their law practices and catapulted AbacusLaw into the fore as the leader in computer software for law practices. We have remained in that position for over twenty years because that same passion, to provide a quality product to our customers, underlies each and every conversation with our clients.

While the software program itself has been transformed with the technological innovations of the past 20 years, we insist upon using today three simple rules that were employed with our first customer:

First, we give our customers multiple ways to communicate with us. Some find it convenient to call, while others prefer to email or fax. Customers can also reach our Tech Support through our Live Agent connection. We also have a contact form on our website. We regularly receive love letters from customers, complimenting our staff. We have the most professional, helpful and friendly people to assist you.

Second, we don't make it complicated. We take the time to build software that is well-tested, rock-solid and is proven to make work easier, or we don't release it. As one of the few remaining independent software companies with no debt, venture money or outside shareholders we don't have to release new versions just to make the numbers look good.

Third, we enjoy dealing with lawyers. (In fact, our founder/president Judd Kessler is an attorney. He is an active member of the State Bar of California, and previously chaired the Law Practice Management and Technology Section.) Our customers are the most competent, successful, and smartest in the world. When you enjoy the people you deal with, it shows.
