This tip is for users running Novell's Client 32. Changing
this option will help eliminate data corruption but not all,
as always the best way to help protect yourself from data
corruption is to make daily backups, reindex at a timely
schedule, and to pack the database often.
Right click on the Network Neighborhood icon, scroll to
Properties then left click. A new window will appear
(Properties dialog box) highlight the component for
"Novell NetWare Client 32" then click on the
Properties box. In the new window click on the Advanced
Settings tab and then scroll down until you see True Commit.
By default the setting is "OFF" in order to help with data
corruption this should be set to "ON". By using this setting
it can cause the network to slow down, but usually it isn't
a noticeable amount, you may wish to ask your network
technician about the total impact.
